Informational Booklet:
Living with Advanced
Heart Failure
The Power of Empathetic Education
My internship at the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research tasked me with redesigning patient education materials related to advanced heart failure. I worked with staff scientist Anne Simard and a team of palliative care physicians to develop a booklet that demystifies this challenging diagnosis for patients and their at-home caregivers.
The booklet is 24 pages long, containing 18 full-color illustrations and over 40 icon designs. I strived for an approachable graphic style compatible with their branding guidelines.
The project won Best in Show at University of Toronto’s Art Meets Science Symposium in November 2023. Its success instigated further collaboration with the Ted Rogers Centre, culminating in my Master’s Research Project.
